Fiji is one of many countries that have shown interest to host the 2025 Rugby League World Cup, the Fiji National Rugby League confirmed yesterday.

This comes after France pulled out in hosting the tournament, with organisers citing financial reasons.

“We are keen to explore the opportunity of hosting and have engaged consultants for the bid and they have expressed our interest to the International Rugby League to host or co-host the RLWC in 2025,” FNRL chairman Aporosa Lutunauga said.

“At this time, we are waiting for further information from the International Rugby League (IRL) board, who will set the parameters to guide our biding team through the process.”
