Life Sentence For Mohammed Masum

Bangladeshi Mohammed Masum was sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court in Lautoka on Thursday for murdering two Bangladeshi nationals whom he shared a flat with in Ba.
Masum would need to serve a minimum imprisonment term of 20 years before a pardon may be considered by the Mercy Commission. Masum murdered Mohammed Nazrul Islam Khandakar and Rohan Bapari at Rarawai in Ba on April, 2020.
Justice Aruna Aluthge handed Masum’s sentence, and Masum represented himself while the State was represented by Shreta Prakash and Legal Aid Commission lawyer Alanieta Bilivalu appeared as a duty counsel.
