New Players, Eastern Saints Stay True To Its Goal

Having 13 new players in their team for this year’s FMF Escott Shield competition is not an excuse for Eastern Saints rugby club.
The club however uses the situation to utilise and create pathway for its academy players.
The 13 new additions were replacements for club player who have moved to New Zealand and other countries to work and play.
Saints coach Filimone Verebalavu said the goal remains the same every year and that is to win.
“We were on top of the table in the first three rounds before we suffered two losses to Army and Police. We won 22-21 against Naqarani on Monday,” he said.
“So far so good, we have a new crop of boys that have gone through our system it is part of development right from the grassroots.
“Apart from the academy, a few joined from other clubs like Savura and we thank them.
“Every year we aim to win. To win and beyond winning is to play the best brand of rugby. That is how we produce a winning culture.”
