Mick Bryne: Need to Control and Play Smart

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua were outsmarted, outmuscled and outplayed, by the New South Wales (NSW) Waratahs in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday night.
This was the gist of Drua head coach Mick Byrne’s interview after making his assessment on their 32-18 loss.
“I credit the Waratahs on their game management,” he said.
Byrne said the Jake Gordon captained side played smart rugby while the same could not be said about the Drua.
“We’ve (Drua) to be able to do the same sort of thing,” he pointed out.
“We’ve (Drua) to learn how to control the game instead of just playing the game.”
Byrne said the loss was very frustrating because they failed to score points from the opportunities they had.
“It was a tough game and very physical.
“There have been a lot of learnings on making use of every opportunity and how to manage our game. We’ve (Drua) to keep stepping up.”
