Bau Ready To Host GCC Meeting
We Are Ready.
This was the confirmation by the chief herald, Na Tuinitoga, Aisea Komaitai as chiefs from Fiji and abroad look forward to the first Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) meeting after 16 years.
The GCC meeting will open today and will end on Thursday at Bau Island.
Mr Komaitai said Bau was ready to receive chiefs from the 14 Provinces and Rotuma.
“Chiefs will arrive in Bau and go to their veimataki (traditional envoy) where they will stay for the duration of the meeting. All the veimataki (traditional envoy) are ready and we will wait for the chiefs arrival today (yesterday),” Mr Komaitai said.
