A national action plan to prevent violence against all women and girls 2023-2028 will be launched soon.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya said this ground-breaking initiative, which encompassed the entire government marked a momentous milestone for Fiji.

The Fiji National Action Plan carries a powerful message: By reshaping power dynamics, challenging gender roles, and rejecting patriarchal norms, we will achieve gender equality and eradicate violence.

“Being the first Pacific Island country and one of only two countries worldwide, alongside Australia, to embrace a comprehensive, inclusive, and evidence-based approach, we are committed to preventing violence against all women and girls,” Ms Tabuya said.
