‘Courage’ Key

Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai told new recruits that “courage is the foundation of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces”.
“It takes courage to put oneself in harm’s way, to face the unknown, and to stand up for what is right,” said the RFMF Commander when congratulating recruits who completed a three-month military training.
He urged them to uphold the values of the RFMF as they began their new journeys as servicemen and women.
He added they were not just soldiers but “guardians of democracy” and that their actions had the power to shape the future of Fiji.
The RFMF recognised the following:
– Best Rifle Shot – Sunia Koroibola who is from Lomanikoro, Rewa
– Best Light Machine Gun Shot – Mikaele Lewaicei who hails from Muana Tunuloa, Cakaudrove
– Best Platoon in the Barracks – Sawani Barracks Commander, Laijia Waqanisau who is from Vunuku, Moala, Lau.
– Best Platoon in the Field – Platoon One, commanded by WO2 Salusalu Rokobuli,
– Best Drill – Platoon three, commanded by WO2 Sailasa Leva.
– Best All-Round Recruit – Elmondo Liganivai, a 19-year-old from Toga, Rewa with maternal links to Bagata, Wailevu, Cakaudrove.
For his achievement, Liganivai first gave credit to God saying that without Him none of what he has accomplished would have been possible.
