As Fijians remember Ratu Sir Josefa Lalabalavu Vanayaliyali Sukuna (Ratu Sukuna), his only surviving nephew, Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, hopes that everyone would live by the principles and values left behind by his late uncle.
Ratu Timoci is Dr Ratu Jione Atonio Rabici Doviverata’s son, who was Ratu Sukuna’s younger brother.
After the church service which was held to remember Ratu Sukuna at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday, Ratu Timoci said it was important for people to always try and be the best version of themselves.
“As we heard during the service, this week was historical, the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) happening on Bau Island and at the same time, the launching of the remembrance of the late Ratu Sukuna,” Ratu Timoci said.
