Members of the public, especially families enjoyed the Ratu Sukuna Day holiday yesterday with picnic at Lomolomo beach in Lautoka.

For Christina Deo, 26, and her family members, it was a time for family get together to celebrate one of Fiji’s statesmen.

Ms Deo arrived from Vancouver, Canada on May 28 with her mother-in-law to visit her family members in Fiji for a three-week vacation.

“I came here after five years, so everything has changed ever since I left because there are a lot of developments,” she said.

“We came here for three weeks. This is the first week, we came yesterday after a long flight and it’s great to be back home.”
