Sports Minister Removes Former Sports Minister Singh From Board
Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, has removed Rajesh Singh from his position on the Executive Board of Directors of the Fiji Sports Council.
In a letter to Mr Singh dated May 24, Mr Saukuru cited reports of Mr Singh’s actions conflicting with the Government’s objectives and exceeding his role as a board member as reasons for his removal.
The minister invoked his powers under Section 5 (1) of the Fiji Sports Council Act 1978 to terminate Mr Singh’s membership, with immediate effect.
Mr Singh was appointed to the Executive Board of Directors of the Joseva Sania, Nouzab Fareed, Della Shaw Elder, Peniasi Sokia, Semesa Karavaki, Permanent Secretary for Finance Shiri Gounder, and Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Rovereto Nayacalevu.
