Drua Shines In The Wet For Top 8 Finish

History was created tonight when the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua qualified for the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific quarterfinal in only their second year.
The Drua walloped Reds 41-17 for a possible seventh place finish.
Winger Kalaveti Ravouvou and flanker Joseva Tamani scored a try each in their final home match.
The Drua took the lead when Selestino Ravutaumada charged down Filipo Daugunu’s kick to score the first try with Caleb Muntz landing the conversion.
Reds leveled the scores 7-7 from a Ryan Smith try coming from a rolling maul with James O’Connor’s conversion going over.
Drua took a 12-7 lead from a Ravouvou try with Muntz missing the conversion. Reds replied with a try to Fraser McReight with O’Connor’s conversion over to give them a 14-12 lead. He again extended the lead to 17-12 from a penalty. The Drua scored their third try to Vilive Miramira with the conversion going wide for the scores to remain 17-17 at halftime.
Frank Lomani extended Drua’s lead to 20-17 with a penalty and there was no looking back. Drua scored three tries to Mesake Doge, Tevita Ikanivere and Tamani with Lomani kicking over two conversions while Kemu Valetini kicked over the other.
Drua had two tries scored by Lomani and Etonia Waqa disallowed due to earlier infringements.
