Club Helps Couple Who Lost Home In Fire
Mahendra Kumar of Nabekavu, Labasa now treasures every help offered to his family after they lost their home in a fire in Labasa a fortnight ago.
Police are investigating the cause of fire and no one has been arrested.
The former policeman, 59, and his wife now live in a makeshift home while their only daughter stays at a relative’s home in Labasa.
On Saturday, One Nation Our People Youth Club from Lautoka in collaboration with the Street Customs Revolution Fiji organisation from the Western Division visited the family to provide relief items.
The club assisted the couple with beddings, toiletries, buckets, storage containers, clothes and basic groceries.
“I appreciate the club’s donation to my family and this encourages us that other people care about our family,” he said.
