Mick Byrne Sets Target For 2024 Season

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will not leave any stone unturned in their bid to bring home a quarterfinal match in the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
Head coach Mick Byrne said this during the inaugural awards night at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Tuesday.
“We’ve got seven home games it’s awesome doing everything we can to make sure that the quarterfinal is played in Fiji,” he said.
“Just running in our second year. We’ve learned so much and I’m sure next year when we come back, we’ll be bigger and better.”
Byrne added that the players have been awesome throughout the season.
“Unbelievable. Turn up every day, ready to get to work, and they’re ready to push you as coach. They have been really good, and they’ve worked really hard.
“I know they do everything they can to make you guys proud but they also do everything they can for their families, for themselves, so I can’t ask for more from the Drua players.”
Byrne thanked the four team leaders consisting of captain, Meli Derenalagi, stand-in captain Tevita Ikanivere, Mesake Doge, and Kalioni Nasoko.
“You guys have been absolutely awesome. The challenging questions that you’ve asked during the year, the message that you’ve been giving, and the way you’ve led this team around the park is the reason why we got the results we got,” said Byrne.
