Food tourism is a market on its own in Fiji, said Tourism Fiji.

It has found tourists opting for Fiji as their travel destination because of its food, said to be delicious and exquisite.

Tourism Fiji chief executive officer, Brent Hill, said globetrotting foodies could have a great time in Fiji

He made the comments at the inaugural Lanson champagne dinner, hosted at the Koro Restaurant, Hilton Fiji Resort on Denarau, last week.

Mr Hill said tourism properties in the country continued to capitalise on such gastronomy in food tourism.

“We are trying to do to continue to get the word out about our brilliant products and produce, and chefs matching it with the best wines and champagnes from around the world.”
