Hospital Expands To Labasa

Pacific Specialist Healthcare will also establish a branch in Labasa with site scouting starting next week.
Owner and director Parvish Kumar said following their project in Labasa, they planned to expand their network Fiji-wide from its set up in 2010 and the recent 100-bed hospital in Nadi on Tuesday.
Pacific Specialist Healthcare is also planning:
- the first organ transplant later this year, set post-regulatory framework in place.
- establish an IVF centre in Suva and a radiation therapy advanced cancer treatment centre in Suva within 20 months.
“The reason why we are developing these services including open heart surgeries is so that our people and our Pacific island nations don’t have to travel for several hours to seek healthcare.”
Mr Kumar said Fiji was within one to two hours flight to most Pacific nations.
The provision of all these advanced surgeries at PSH is going to make advanced healthcare services accessible by all, in Fiji.
“We believe health can unify nations and should be inclusive. Our name is Pacific Specialist Healthcare. The ‘Pacific’ in our name was a call to our Pacific island nations, that we have established ourselves not just for Fijians but also for our Pacific brothers and sisters.”
“We brought Pacific Specialist Healthcare even closer to our Pacific nations by establishing right next to the airport. Our next step is to establish our hospital in the region, beginning with Tonga next week followed by other Pacific islands as well.
He said this hospital was also a centre for training for Pacific island nations.
“We are developing MoUs with Pacific Islands whereby any hospital from the region can send their team for training here to our hospital at no cost. We intend to promote regionalism and a pacific commonwealth through health.”
