Mark Dixon Resignation Sends Shockwaves

Outgoing chief executive officer Mark Dixon’s resignation yesterday sent shockwaves through the business circuit.
“Disappointed” was how the Textile Clothing and Footwear Council described the sudden announcement.
“He was breath of fresh air at FRCS, and a very tough act to follow,” the council said last night.
“Fiji needs his type of expertise.
“He will be sorely missed.”
Finance Minister Biman Prasad said, “As Minister of Finance I appreciated the work that he did to lead the FRCS over last 21 months and particularly in the last six months of the new Government.”
“His legacy in developing a new strategic plan will help the organisation in its future work and direction.
“We understand his imperative to leave to be with his family.
“On behalf the Government , I thank him for his leadership of FRCS over the last 21 months.”
Mr Dixon returns to Australia to join his family when his resignation ends at the end of the month.
FRCS chairman Malakai Naiyaga said the board understood Mr Dixon’s “predicament”
