Tailevu Creates Upset
The Tailevu rugby side created an upset in their Skipper Cup opener with a 18-15 win over Namosi at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori this afternoon.
The Samisoni Baikeitoga – coached side led 11-0 at halftime, with an unconverted try and two penalties which was kicked by Semi Matalau. Matalau also missed two penalties.
Namosi came back in the second spell and scored two tries and converted a penalty. Only a try was converted and they led 15-11 before Tailevu number 8 Semi Degei touched down for the green side and they led 16-15. Winger Viliame Kanatabua successfully slotted in the conversion as they held on to their 18-15 lead until the final whistle.
