Siromi Turaga Is Here To Stay

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga did not mince his words saying he is here to stay.
He was responding to speculations and calls for his removal and a ministerial reshuffle of his portfolio.
During the National Budget debate parliament debate two weeks ago. Opposition MP Mosese Bulitavu called for his removal saying he was not fit for the job.
“Social media and its comments do not influence the Government,” Mr Turaga said when asked in Nadi yesterday.
“At the end of the day we know who is counter-responsible and that is the Honourable Prime Minister, and that decision will not be taken lightly. He is going to consult,” he said.
“I am here to stay.”
Mr Turaga said they would not do what the previous Government did on termination.
“Give us a chance, it’s a new government. It’s a three-party government. People must understand coming out of the 16 years of trying to clean the mess up. It’s not easy.”
