Kaumaitotoya, Nawari, For Fiji Airports Top Job

An announcement about the next chief executive officer of Fiji Airports will be scheduled soon’.
Former Fiji Television group chief executive officer and Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) corporate director Mesake Nawari was one of two known strong contenders vying for the job.
Mr Nawari is back in the country three months after his stint with FFA in the Solomons.
SauTech consultant and former chief executive officer for Fiji Crop and Livestock Council, Lavenia Kaumaitotoya yesterday confirmed she and Mr Nawari were shortlisted.
Fiji Airports has been without a chief executive officer since Rowan Chalmers resignation was announced in February, six months after he took office.
Mr Chalmers joined almost one month after Fiji Airways was appointed to manage the entity, after almost two years as executive general manager – operations, airports, inflight services and freight, for the national carrier.
He worked as executive general manager – operations and customer experience at Perth Airport from February 2014 to July 2016.
In July 2021, Isei Tudreu was acting CEO.
In a telephone conversation yesterday, board chairman Hasmukh Patel said he would think about whether he would respond to queries from this newspaper.
“Don’t call me up to ask questions,” he said.
