FIFA Boss To Arrive Tomorrow
FIFA president Gianni Infantino is in New Zealand for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and is also visiting OFC member associations.

Fédération internationale de football association (French for ‘International Association Football Federation’) president Gianni Infantino arrives into the country tomorrow.

This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf.

Yusuf indicated that the FIFA boss would be accompanied by an 11-member delegation.

Infantino is now in New Zealand for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and visiting all 11 Oceania Football Confederations (OFC) member associations.

 

Programme

Yusuf says the FIFA president would be met by the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Minister for Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru, Fiji FA executives and district officials.

The FIFA chief will officially be opening the King Pele Fitness Centre (Vatuwaqa), which is being funded by FIFA, and the newly renovated Futsal court at the Fiji FA Academy in Suva.

He is also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education and Fiji FA to launch the Football for Schools programme

Also part of Infantino’s delegation is former Australian football star Tim Cahill.
