The challenge for the Swire Shipping Flying Fijians will be to win all their seven Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific home matches for the 2024 season.

For the first time, the NSW Waratahs and Western Force are coming over to play here.

Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans yesterday said it was another exciting draw with seven games in Fiji – the most ever.

“Three of those matches will kick off at around 1pm, making them an ideal Drua Day Out for fans and families,” he said.

“They’ll be able to return home or enjoy their Saturday afternoon after the match.”

Evans welcomed teams like the defending champions Crusaders, Hurricanes, Moana Pasifika, Queensland Reds and Melbourne Rebels back to Fiji.

“Equally, it will be great for our fans to watch the NSW Waratahs and the Western Force playing on Fijian soil for the first time.”

The 2024 draw sees the 12 teams playing 14 matches during the regular season, consisting of 11 round robin matches and three additional rivalry clashes, followed by an eight-team finals series.

The Drua made history last season by becoming the fastest new team to make the quarterfinals, in only their second year in the competition. Drua head of marketing and commercial Shane Hussein said the franchise club has retained the majority of their players from the 2023 season.

“We will have further exciting announcements in the next few months regarding new additions,” Hussein said.
