Moce Mada, Mere Samisoni

A legend, an icon and a blessing of this lifetime were among the many accolades used to describe the late Adi Mere Tuisalalo Samisoni at her funeral service on Friday.

A legend, an icon and a blessing of this lifetime were among the many accolades used to describe the late Adi Mere Tuisalalo Samisoni at her funeral service on Friday.  

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Centenary Church in Suva to farewell the founder of the successful chain of bakeries throughout Fiji called Hot Bread Kitchen.  

Established 41 years ago, the Hot Bread Kitchen has become a household name in Fiji with 27 outlets employing about 650 Fijians nationwide.  

Among mourners that joined in the celebration of Ms Samisoni’s life were former President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and his wife Adi Koila Nailatikau, Burebasaga paramount chief Ro Teimumu Kepa, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua and members of the Diplomatic Corps.  

Ms Samisoni died on Friday, August 11 at the age of 85 after a short illness.
