Schools football return to the Labasa in the Northern division after ten years.

The Fiji Secondary School Championship kicks off around respective Labasa grounds tomorrow (Wednesday).

The four days tournament sponsored by Digicel is organised by the Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association.

48 teams will be participating in four different grades, Under 15, 17, 19 and open girls’ division.

Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association executive member of Northern branch Mohammed Shaheed said the tournament would be held at five venues.

Games will be staged are Batinikama College, All Saint Secondary School, Labasa Muslim College, Labasa Sangam College and Subrail Park.

“All the finals will be held at Subrail Park on Saturday,” Shaheed said.

The defending champion for all four grades is Xavier College; they have confirmed their participation to defend all the titles.

“Since this tournament will be held during the last week of school second term, we are requesting everyone to join to support their favourite team,” he said.

The official opening today will be done by the Minister for Employment ,Agni Deo Singh today.
