Meet Sharmila Devi Singh, a hairstylist, beautician, makeup artist and owner of Magic Mirror, a beauty salon in Namaka, Nadi.

Born and raised in Nadi, Ms Singh comes from a middle-class family of six people including three other siblings, her father a retired farmer and her mother, who is a housewife.

Her journey in the beauty industry began as a student at Lautoka’s Pivot Point Fiji Institute.

“I always had an interest in beautifying beautiful people and of course, I wanted to do something on my own,” she said.

So, in 2010, Ms Singh opened Magic Mirror, an establishment specialising in hair, beauty, nails, lashes, makeup, henna designs, and offering aftercare products. Her business, which is located opposite the FNPF Office, Prime Complex in Nadi, started small, but gradually grew over time to become what it is today.

Ms Singh shared some insight with SunBiz into her day job, her go-to places to eat and unwind, and her top destinations in Fiji.

What Do You Enjoy About Your Line Of Work? 

What I enjoy about my job is how I get to associate with all different kinds of people and beautify them. I love what I do, and I put my all into it.
