Savusavu Makes Art (smART), is a group consisting of artists from in and around Savusavu and will be holding its second art and craft extravaganza at Nawi Island, Cakaudrove this Saturday.

Nawi Island Pte Limited director of community outreach and island coordinator Lynne McLaren said there would be six artists from Savusavu showcasing their creations and a few vendors also displaying their work and produce.

Anyone interested to attend the event will only have to pay for the shuttle ride across to the island.

“We hope to make it a regular event on the island to encourage local art and craft making,” Ms McLaren said.

“There is so much talent in the North so the development hopes that this platform encourages local talent and gives them a place and a wider audience to showcase their incredible creativity.”

She said a similar art and craft market was held on the island before.

The programme is from 9am to 3pm.
