Law Student Advocates Preservation of iTaukei Culture and Heritage

A third year law student Adi Sotiana Tokainadrua Rabuka is among nine contestants vying for top honours in this week’s Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North.
The Drekeniwai, Cakaudrove native did not compete last year because of education commitments.
She is 23 and is sponsored by Galaxy Hotel and Apartments and Rentals.
“I believe I have what it takes,” Miss Rabuka said.
The daughter of Roko Tui Macuata, Kalivati Rabuka, aims to advocate the preservation of the iTaukei culture and heritage.
“It is important to preserve our cultural heritage because it keeps our integrity as people,” she said.
“Fiji is blessed with many cultures and we need to do something about it for our future generation.”
Miss Rabuka is pursuing her studies at the University of the South Pacific’s Laucala Bay Campus, Suva.
The festival is scheduled for September 2-9 at Subrail Park in Labasa.
