‘Investor Confidence Returns To Labasa’

Fiji’s Look North Policy is working wonders as people are showing confidence in the Labasa Township in terms of investment says Labasa Town Council chair special administrator, Ami Kohli.
He believes that ‘Babasiga Town,’ which used to be ignored and people choosing not to invest due to certain reasons, was now a thing of the past.
With the opening of Meenoo’s $4million second outlet opposite the Labasa Bus Stand on Thursday, Mr Kohli said the town was undergoing a facelift.
“Labasa Damodar City an ongoing project has already given opportunities to new businesses to open,” Mr Kohli said.
“Rups Investments, a triple-storey building currently undergoing construction will also provide a new look to the town.”
He said such investments created more competitions for buyers and consumers.
“We have lot of space for developments in town and I want to see more innovative ideas such as good, classy restaurants and five-star hotels,” Mr Kohli said.
“This is something that tourists look forward to and sometimes travel to Savusavu from Labasa.”
Moreover, he thanked the investors for creating more job opportunities for northerners who means less migration to Viti Levu and less crime.
