Nightclub Patrons Claim Assault, Police Handles Case

Police are investigating a report where four adults were assaulted at a nightclub in Labasa Town on Sunday, September 3.
One of the victims, Naomi Taufa, accompanied by two females and one male friend to the Revolver Nightclub, claims that around midnight they were manhandled by the club’s bar manager.
“We were having our normal conversation at the table when I saw the bar manager assaulting our male friend,” Ms Taufa said.
“Later, we all got manhandled by the bar manager and his son.”
She said they all went to Labasa Hospital for medical examination and filed their report at the Labasa Police Station on September 4.
Divisional Police Commander (DPC) Northern Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka confirmed that they were carrying out an investigation.
“After gathering all victims medical reports we will proceed with questioning of suspects,” SSP Baledrokadroka said.
When contacted, the Revolver Nightclub owner, Amit Prasad, could not comment because investigation was ongoing.
He said the video footage has been given to police and the complainants were employees from another nightclub in Labasa.
