Tebara Carnival ‘fosters unity’

Fijians from all walks of life turned up in numbers on Saturday to cheer for the six queen contestants competing in the Vodafone Tebara Carnival in Nausori.
The week-long carnival, which started on Saturday at Syria Park, will end on September 16.
The six contestants are Miss Tara’s Supermarket Vasenai Rabo, Miss Nausori Town Council Ana Lule Raogo, Miss Rewa Pharmacy Nitika Neha, Miss Kriss Amusement Shaiya Siya Kumar, Miss Nausori Plaza Priyashna Payal Prasad, and Miss Pak N Save Supermarket Faaizah Shahina.

The Theme for this year’s Carnival is ‘Clean and Healthy Environment’ with the slogan – Beat Plastic Pollution, aligns perfectly with Government’s priorities.
Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Katamotu said: “These events not only foster unity, but provide our council with additional resources to benefit our town. I am pleased to learn that the funds raised from the carnival will be used to beautify the Nausori municipality and to enhance community service,” he said.
