Burglary Victims Traumatised

Two alleged home burglaries last Friday have left victims in fear and shock.
One was in the North, the other in the West.
Police were yet to establish the details of the cases said Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro.
Lautoka break-in
A Korean businessman alleged two men entered his home in Lautoka, assaulted him, and stole items worth more than $6000.
Paul Kim, 64, who lives at Savala Street, operates a scrap metal business in Lautoka.
Surveillance camera footage showed the men continuously punched and kicked Mr Kim, in the early hours of last Friday.
The men then ransacked the home, took his wallet, credit cards, electronic items, bottles of wine, a diabetes tester, and other valuables.
“I was awoken by my dogs barking; as I came out of my room, someone switched on one of the lights,” Mr Kim said.

Surveillance camera footage showed the men continuously punched and kicked Mr Kim, even while on the floor, in the early hours of last Friday.
Labasa alleged burglary
A family in Tovata, Korowiri, Labasa, is claiming to have encountered similar fate on the same morning.
Kamal Deo, 31, said his daughter and wife were traumatised because of an alleged break-in.
“The thief made a forced entry through my daughter’s bedroom around 2:30am,” Mr Deo said.
He claimed $800 cash, a watch, two smartphones, a purse, bank cards and some groceries were stolen.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kemueli Baledrokadroka had directed the station officer for Macuata/Bua to visit the family.
