More than 1000 women at this year’s Seventh- Day Adventist Church Women’s Congress had the opportunity to develop their financial literacy skills through ANZ’s MoneyMinded programme on Koro Island.

MoneyMinded training has helped more than 20,000 people in Fiji since its inception in 2010.

ANZ Fiji Country Head, Rabih Yazbek, said the programme was creating value for those who participated.

“We know that with careful budgeting, planning and through the practical life skills that MoneyMinded offers, people, their families and communities can thrive.

“Our focus at ANZ is improving financial wellbeing in our community, which means driving a savings culture in Fiji.

“Many of the women at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 2023 Women’s Congress attended multiple MoneyMinded sessions throughout the event because they found it so beneficial.

“These were school teachers, women who work in the private sector and had taken leave to attend the Congress, and retirees,” Mr Yazbek said.

Alice Kaisuva, Director of Women and Children’s Ministries, Fiji Mission for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, said: “The ANZ financial literacy sessions at the Koro Island Women’s Congress were resoundingly successful.

“The feedback received underscores the importance of continued investment in financial education for women in Fiji.

“This initiative has not only empowered individuals, but also has the potential to create a ripple effect of financial literacy across communities.”
