Fiji Pine CEO Discontinues Contract

Vimlesh Kumar has discontinued his contract with Fiji Pine Limited.
Today is Mr Kumar’s last day at the helm of company he worked for the last 16 years.
In an interview yesterday, the outcoming Fiji Pine chief executive officer said: “Yes, I confirm that I have discontinued my contract.”
He added that he would not comment on the reason behind his decision to discontinue his contract with the parent company managing the forests, working with land lease holders and overseeing the profitability of the Fiji Pine group of companies.
“Plans moving forward, I will take a break after 16 years of service to the industry,” Mr Kumar said.
“Then I will explore other opportunities at a place where I can add value.
“No further comments.”
Fiji Pine board member Mataiasi Nabau Saukuru said: “Our CEO Vimlesh Kumar finished his services after 16 years of employment with the group.
“His term ends in 2025, but he has chosen to discontinue his services.
“He had written a letter of discontinuation of service to the board two weeks ago and we have accepted his letter
“Tomorrow (today) will be his last day.”
Mr Saukuru said the board hasn’t decided who would be acting on his behalf.
“We haven’t gotten any replacement yet.”
He said they hadn’t advertised the position, but would do so later on.
“I think we have capable senior managers here who will run the show until we find a suitable candidate,” Mr Saukuru said.
