The Magistrate Court said the matter was an indictable offence and could not be heard at the Magistrate level given the seriousness of the crime, thus, the case has been transferred to the High Court in Suva.

She said Mr Qio could have his alibi presented on his second court appearance.

Mr Qio will appear at the High Court in Suva on October 2 where he can apply for bail.

Mr Qio was denied bail and placed at the Suva Remand Centre.
