There is no group of death in this year’s Courts Inter-district Championship, which was drawn today at Courts Samabula.

This was the comment of Navua football head coach Saiyad Ali.

Navua is in Group B with Suva, Rewa and Nadi while Group A has Digicel Fiji Premier League champions Lautoka, Battle of the Giants champion Labasa, Ba and Tailevu/Naitasiri.

Twenty (20) district teams are divided into three divisions for the tournament from October 10-15.

“I think in my opinion the group is very balanced,” Ali said.

“We cannot name either of the group as the group of death looking at the form of the teams. The pools are equally divided. On paper people can say this is a stronger pool but on the day you never know what will happen.”

This year’s IDC is Courts 23rd consecutive tournament with a sponsorship of $130k.
