Rewa Football Anticipate IDC Win

The Ajay Trading sponsored Rewa football team plans to end the season on a high note by winning the Courts InterDistrict Championship (IDC).
The tournament starts tomorrow at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. Rewa football coach Rodrick Singh told SUNsports yesterday they must win the IDC before the season ended.
Rewa, dubbed the Delta Tigers, are in Group B with Suva, Navua and Nadi
“As a coach, my expectation is nothing less than going out to win the tournament,” he said.
“It is what it is and this is my expectation.”
The Delta Tigers finished runners-up at the Fiji FACT earlier this year.
They were placed second in the Digicel Fiji Premier League.
“We have nothing to show for as we have no trophies, and we want to make sure that we grab ourselves a silverware before the season ends,” he said.
“We did not have a full-strength team during training as a few of our players went over to New Zealand for the OFC Futsal tournament and a few injuries to other players as well.”
Singh indicated that striker Epeli Valevou suffered a knee injury while central defender, Madhwan Gounder, has an ankle injury.
“Player unavailability is another issue as Peniame Drova is currently recruited by the RFMF (Republic of Fiji Military Forces).”
Singh said the Rewa players who played in the OFC Futsal tournament in New Zealand would join them for the me.
“Abbu Zahid is our sole overseasbased player, Tevita Waranaivalu, Setareki Hughes and Gabriel Matanasiga arrives from Auckland today (yesterday).
“The team for the me will consist of young and experienced players.” Singh acknowledged the support of the Rewa fans and urged them to stay loyal to the team.
“We’ll give our 100 per to get the team officials and the fans a trophy before the end of the season,” he said.
