The removal of the current track lines and installation of a new synthetic tracks system could finish by early next year.

This was confirmed yesterday by Australian company Sphynx Solutions Pty Limited who was given the contract for the job.

“As per the work schedule for the installation of the new tracks system, the HFC Bank Stadium is track to deliver by the end of February 2024,” said company’s project manager Shahfaraaz Ali.

This is good news for Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific fans in Suva and surrounding areas that the HFC Bank Stadium could host three of the seven Swire Shipping Fijian Drua home matches.

The sevens Drua home matches for the 2024 season are as follows with the venues yet to be confirmed:

■ March 9 Drua v Crusaders

■ March 24 Drua v Waratahs

■ March 30 Drua v Force

■ April 19 Drua v Hurricanes

■ April 27 Drua v Moana Pasifika

■ May 18 Drua v Reds

■ May 31 Drua v Rebels

In an earlier interview Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans said they were looking at moving one or two of the Drua home games to Churchill Park in Lautoka, but they have yet to finalise it.
