Preschool Lawyer Costume Becomes Reality for Joshua

In preschool, Joshua Francis Prasad’s parents dressed him up like a lawyer. Nobody could have predicted that 20 years later, he would be seen dressed in full legal regalia.
Mr Prasad was one of 11 pioneering law graduates of the Fiji National University (FNU) admitted to the bar yesterday.
Pursuing a career in the legal profession was never an option for the 23-year-old man, though.
Having a pastor for a father and a preschool teacher for a mother, the stereotype that lawyers were liars was always something that lingered over them.
This all changed at the age of 12, when he came across a story published by the Fiji Sun about a bar admission story.
“There were a lot of sacrifices made and so many sleepless nights. I even questioned myself most times about whether I should continue my studies because it was exhausting.”
However, he insists that the journey has been worth it.
“When you set your priorities right, you’ll achieve what you came for. ”
He credited his success to God, dedication to studies, and perseverance.
He plans on becoming a criminal defence lawyer.
