Vendor Lights Up Stall To Attract Customers

He was the only one who lit up his table with colorful lights to sell produce he buys from farmers.
Mr Kumar sells vegetables and pot plants at the market.
The father of one start selling in the market since he was 14 years old. He said he never regretted the market business that his father started.
“I will continue with it because this business has supported us, and it has broadened our relationship with people,”Mr Kumar said.
“Diwali is always a special time because families and iTaukei friends from Nagado Village in Sabeto usually visit us at home.
“This is going to happen again for this Diwali. We share the little things we have with them in love and care for one another.”
He said idea to decorate his table with colourful lights was intended to attract his customers.
Mr Kumar said his message for this Diwali was, “spend money wisely and don’t spend too much money on fireworks”.
The vendor travels daily from Nagado to sell at Lautoka and Nadi markets.
Fellow vendor Arti Singh, 35, who sells varieties of fruits in the market said she also wanted to make a difference in presenting her table for this Diwali.
“That is why I decorated my table because I want to make a difference in presenting my produce to my customers,” she said.
Ms Singh has been a market vedor for the past 15 years.
