Fiji Ports Corporation Limited, UTOF scoop President Award

Fiji Ports Corporation Limited (FPCL) and Unit Trust of Fiji (UTOF) scooped the President Award at the Fiji Business Excellence Awards at the Sofitel Fiji Resort in Denarau on Saturday.
FPCL has advanced significantly along this path of excellence, having started its pursuit of business excellence in 2012 but the breakthrough came in 2015 and 2016 when it scooped the Achievement in Business Success Award.
FPCL also scooped the FBEA Green Sustainability Award (GSA), one of the most prestigious environmental awards in Fiji that recognises overall environmental and social stewardship by organisations.
FPCL chief executive officer Vajira Piyasena said the award paid tribute to the potential and dedication of the Fijian business community along with the unwavering commitment and diligence of the entire Fiji Ports Corporation team.
“We have embraced innovation in sustainability, digitalisation, and our dedication to our people,” Mr Piyasena said.
“We have been able to deliver effective, dependable, and ecologically conscious port services that support Fiji’s economic development.
“Fiji Ports Corporation remains a driving force for growth and excellence in the years to come.”
UTOF chief executive officer Vilash Chand said the awards were the best Diwali gift for the team.
He said the team was grateful for industry recognition of their effort in business excellence.
“Team UTOF, we have done what we had aspired and planned for, for a number of ,. years,” he said.
“Each and every member of our organisation has contributed to this achievement.
Appreciation is also extended to our IT Consultant for her expertise in transforming our digital environment,” Mr Chand said.
He urged local businesses to consider the FNU’s FBE Framework and participate in next year’s award.
