The Service Rugby Club officials are working hard behind the scene in organising next month’s Fiji Bitter sponsored-Labasa Sevens tournament.

The three-day rugby sevens tournament will also cater a volleyball, netball and Futsal soccer competitions at Labasa’s Subrail Park from December 7-9.

The theme for this year’s tournament is ‘Resilience through Sports’.

Tournament media liaison officer, Jackson Tuvici, said they were inviting teams across the country to participate.

“We are excited to have all the defending champions returning to defend their titles,” Tuvici said.

“Through this club we have produced well-known rugby players like Apisalome Waqatabu and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games gold medallist Sireli Maqala.”

He is hopeful to see more players from Vanua Levu make the national rugby teams.

Tuvici said for the first time they would be holding a futsal competition.

The closing date for teams to enter is December 4.
