Aseri makes parents proud ; aims to become a pilot

Queen Victoria School student, Aseri Uluinavuku has already set his sights to becoming a pilot.
Inspired by his achievements and driven by childhood dreams, the young man from Nasikawa, Navosa, with maternal roots in Wainimala, Naitasiri, said the sky is not the limit.
“My goal now is to push into aircraft engineering and later become a pilot,” he said.

Mr Uluinavuku's academic achievement made him the second overall high achiever for in his Year 13 class.
He was also named the best non-prefect student, for demonstrating discipline and leadership beyond his years.
Mr Uluinavuku scored 360 out of 400 in his final marks.
Below is a breakdown of the marks he scored: -
Mathematics - 88
English - 86
Chemistry - 90
Physics - 96
Despite facing challenges in an all-boys school, Mr Uluinavuku focused on what mattered most.
“Being disciplined as a non-prefect student is not easy because peers don’t always respect you."
"But I wanted to make my parents and teachers proud, and that’s what drove me,” he explained.
Mr Uluinavuku’s ambition is rooted in a lifelong fascination with the skies.
“I wanted to become an astronomer when I was young but seeing that pilot training was more available and interesting in Fiji, inspired me to follow this path,” he shared.
Looking back at his journey, he dedicated his success to his family: “All I can say is, to my parents, it was worth it.”
