Seremaia Bai has resigned from being coach for Tailevu to focus on his priorities.

Bai yesterday confirmed giving in his resignation three weeks ago.

Right now he has no intentions in coaching at provincial level.

“The reason I resign is due to what we are going through now –we have a family business, farm and I need to support my two children in New Zealand,” Bai said.

“That is where my priority is now.”

“I feel that it really affects our family business and our farm that we need to develop.”

“I would love to continue coaching but it’s a challenge. Because of time, you can’t just do everything. It was a hard decision.”

“I have had to do some assessments on what’s really important, especially for my children.”

Bai coached Tailevu at the beginning of the 2021 Skipper Cup season in the two games against Namosi and Northland where they both lost.

“Although we were not given the time to prepare in the few weeks before the season started, we did well.”

“We lost to Namosi in the first game, Namosi is a champion team but we lost in the last minute and we played well against Northland.”

“I want to change a lot of things, play more attacking rugby, I want to develop rugby in Tailevu but it’s my situation and things regarding my family that I have had to resign,” Bai concluded.
