Lieutenant Colonel Vakatale Aims To Go One Better

The Commanding Officer 2nd Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Batt 40 Lieutenant Colonel Atunaisa Vakatale aims to go one better as they depart our shores this afternoon for Sinai, Egypt aboard a Royal Australian Air Force.

“We are looking forward to the next 12 months or so ahead of us. My troops have prepared well and are fit physically, spiritually and mentally. We intend to continue the good work done by my predecessors. They have laid a good platform on which we will launch our operations from.”

Leading a total of 170 personnel, Lt Col Vakatale is very optimistic about the next 12 months and is eager to take on the challenge of leading the men and women under his command.

Fiji continues to contribute troops for Peacekeeping in the Sinai Peninsular in accordance with the Egyptian-Isreali Treaty of Peace since 1982.
