The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has strongly denied allegations of corruption and mismanagement made in a series of Facebook posts, calling them "false, reckless, and unsupported by any credible evidence".

In a media statement released today, TLTB responded to serious allegations made by Vilisi Nadaku concerning lease dealings with Grace Road companies, staff appointments, and retirement benefits.

TLTB Board Chairman Ratu Aca Rayawa said the posts were designed to mislead landowners, stakeholders, and the public about TLTB's work.

"TLTB states unequivocally that these allegations are false, reckless, and unsupported by any credible evidence," Ratu Aca said.

"The posts are designed to mislead landowners, stakeholders, and the public about TLTB's work."

Mr Nadaku had alleged in his December 20 Facebook post that TLTB Chief Executive Officer Solomone Nata facilitated numerous leases to Grace Road companies and claimed impropriety in board appointments and staff benefits.

TLTB defended its lease processing procedures, stating all leases must comply with statutory requirements under the iTaukei Land Trust Act 1940, including landowner consultation.

The Board said Grace Road leases in Yadua and Wainadova were processed properly, with the Wainadova matter currently before the High Court.

On appointments, TLTB said all positions were merit-based and followed proper procedures, with board appointments made by the Minister for iTaukei Affairs as required by law.

TLTB also rejected claims about retirement benefits, stating decisions were made "in full compliance with its policies and procedures" and approved by board resolution.

Ratu Aca said TLTB remains committed to serving iTaukei landowners as the sole statutory institution administering iTaukei land.
