New $80m Damodar City to boost tourism, retail and jobs in Nadi
The project will be built on a 10-acre Crown lease site along the Denarau Bypass Road, with the total investment expected to increase once construction begins.

The Damodar Group of Companies will invest $80 million in a major commercial and entertainment precinct in Nadi, creating about 680 permanent jobs and adding a new retail, tourism and hospitality hub to Fiji's fastest-growing economic corridor.
The development, known as Damodar City Nadi, will feature cinemas, a hotel, restaurants, technology and fashion outlets, and a range of entertainment facilities.
The project will be built on a 10-acre Crown lease site along the Denarau Bypass Road, with the total investment expected to increase once construction begins.

Damodar Group chief executive Div Damodar said the project was the result of more than 16 years of planning.
"The center of Fiji's GDP stretches from Sigatoka to Ba, that is the true heartbeat of Fiji's economy. Over the last 16 years, we studied exactly how Damodar City Nadi could best serve this region. We focused on what different generations want in a lifestyle," he said.
The development is expected to create about 680 permanent jobs across the retail, hospitality, technology and facility management sectors.
Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development Esrom Immanuel said the investment demonstrated strong confidence in Fiji's economy.
"An investment of $80 million is far more than just steel, concrete and modern architecture. It is a resounding vote of confidence in the Fiji economy. Damodar City Nadi is more than a shopping and commercial destination. It is a modern economic hub that will bring together retail, entertainment, hospitality, professional services and community experiences under one vibrant destination," he said.
Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Civil Aviation Salaseini Daunabuna said the project would strengthen Nadi's tourism offering.
"We look forward to what they will offer for Nadi as you know a lot of the big hotel chain sit around that area so they will be adding to the inventory, rooms and also in terms of what they can offer which is similar to what they have here in Suva."
The development is expected to be officially launched in mid-2027.
