Body found floating near Marine Drive in Lami

Police are investigating the discovery of a body found floating near the seaside along Marine Drive in Lami early this morning.

The Fiji Sun established that the body was spotted around 6.30am near the beach behind the Lami Oceania Wesley Church.

Witnesses say officers were alerted and arrived at the scene at about 7.02am confirming the discovery.

The area was cordoned off at about 7.10am as investigations began.

A police statement is expected soon.
