Sitiveni Rakai was the hero of the Labasa football side after his goal late in the second half enabled them to hold Tailevu/ Naitasiri 1-1 at Subrail Park, Labasa, on Friday night.

After a scoreless first half, the visitors took a 1-0 lead when striker Carlos Liomasia capitalised on a blunder by veteran Labasa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau to tap in the first goal.

In the final quarter, Labasa got a freekick and midfielder Edwin Shayam’s attempt found an unmarked Rakai to nod in the equaliser.
