Some of Fiji’s top bowlers will converge at the Nadi Sports and Social Club this weekend for the True Roll Sports Open Triples tournament, which has a $3250 prize pool and more than $2000 worth of giveaways.

The tournament, billed as Fiji’s richest triples tournament, was established in 2025 by True Roll Sports with a focus on creating opportunities, supporting grassroots development, encouraging more women and juniors to take up bowls, and providing greater competitive exposure for Fiji’s talented bowlers.

The tournament has received corporate support from BSP Life, Digicel, TFL, Express Freight Management, Axellerate, Zens, Islands Electric, Priceline Pharmacy and Signs Pacific, among others.

Their support reflects a commitment to developing bowls and creating opportunities for players in Fiji.

Bowls is an inclusive sport where age and gender are not barriers. Fiji’s Rajnesh Prasad has shown what is possible, winning silver at the 2025 World Bowls Champion of Champions and more recently defeating Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sam Tolchard in pool play.

His achievements highlight the talent available in Fiji and the need for continued development and opportunities.

True Roll Sports founder Satya Nadan said the organisation wanted to play a part in taking the sport forward.

“We want the best for bowls in Fiji. The talent is here and we need to keep creating opportunities for it to grow. This is just the start for True Roll Sports.”

True Roll Sports plans to host dedicated women’s and junior tournaments in the future.

Their team, the Rolling Fijians, will also take the Fiji flag to Australia in September to compete at the Dubbo International Fours tournament.

Attention now turns to Nadi, where inaugural champions Rick Eyre, Elizabeth Moceiwai and Ravitesh Singh will return to defend their title against a strong field of Fiji’s top bowlers.
