“The professional training, exposure and up-skilling has been mind blowing and pave the way for more young Fijian ocean sports enthusiasts to follow. 

Weightlifting Fiji head coach Henry Elder said even though past year allocations were received, it was not enough to pay for expenses.

“It is a good sight to see these games take a positive impact on players not only during the games but in their daily lives as well,” he said.

The appointment was finalised by the FSC board in October 2025, says Sport Minister Jese Saukuru.

“Time and time we are reminded that Nadi does lack international sporting standard infrastructure to host international games such as Drua franchise home games,” Kumar said.
