The funeral of iconic Pacific musician George “Fiji” Veikoso will be held on Tuesday, August 12, at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
It will be a time for fans, family and friends to come together to honour his life and legacy.
In a statement from his family and estate, the funeral is described as a time “to come together in love, remembrance and gratitude” for Veikoso, whose influence reached across generations and borders.

Doors to the arena will open at 7:30am, and guests are asked to be seated by 8:15am. Seating on the ground floor will be reserved for close family and friends.
The funeral procession is expected to travel along Laucala Bay Road at 8:00am, arriving at the arena by 8:30am. The service will begin at 9:00am.
After the service, the funeral cortege will make its way to his final resting place, where the artist will be laid to rest among his ancestors.
George “Fiji” Veikoso passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 55.
Born on May 10, 1970, he became known across the Pacific and beyond for his unique style of island reggae and for proudly promoting Pacific identity through his music.
The family also thanked everyone who has offered support during their time of grief.
“Your kindness, prayers and presence have brought us comfort as we prepare to farewell our beloved ‘POJI’.”
They ended the statement with a lyric from one of his songs:
“Music is the healer, soothing to my soul…” – FIJI
